Chuck Cheatham 4.5

This whiskey was produced in 1984 and, true to that time, it's as opulent as a wealthy character and as appealing as a famous TV detective. The official tasting notes from the distiller are accurate in my view. I get a waxy, honeyed aroma with hints of butter and wood shavings. There's a tingle of salt and pepper on the palate, accompanied by a creamy, buttery note. The finish offers spice and lingering oak, which is not at all aggressive or bitter. It brings to mind a specific brand or a particular expression from that brand. I had this at a special release tasting event last year, and for me, it was the best among several options, including other notable Scotches. I'm tasting it again now because I managed to discreetly acquire a sample. I enjoy it when a plan works out!
