About this bottle

Released exclusively for Selfridge's, a distinguished UK department store founded by Harry Gordon Selfridge, this is the sole retail outlet for the 1,000 bottles created in this blend. Selfridge, originally from Wisconsin, became a prominent retail figure who developed an interest in London's Oxford Street, launching his own stores in 1906. Despite losing his wealth during the Great Depression, partly due to gambling and inadequate financial planning, the Selfridge's chain endured, recognized for its carefully chosen products and impressive buildings. Reflecting the store's heritage and opulence, The Entertainer evokes the blended Scotch whiskies of the 1920s, which featured a more generous and indulgent ratio of malt whisky to grain whisky. Consequently, this release comprises 75% malt whisky sourced from the Highlands, Islay, and Speyside, combined with 25% grain whisky from the Scottish Lowlands. The spirit initially matures in first-fill bourbon casks, then is transferred to virgin French oak barrels that have undergone heavy toasting, a treatment favored by blender John Glaser. This whisky, like all Compass Box creations, is bottled at 46% ABV, is non-chill filtered, and has no artificial coloring added.
