Clyde May's 9 Year Cask Strength Alabama-Style Whiskey

I was surprised that a 9-year-old cask strength whiskey received such low ratings, so I tried it myself. It presents as a brownish liquid with minimal legs. The initial aroma is vanilla, followed by dried apple notes, then chocolate emerges. I did detect a faint hint of vinegar, which might account for the negative scores. The palate is very rich and smooth, featuring apples and cinnamon. The finish is impressively long. Overall, this is a superb whiskey and I would definitely repurchase it. I believe the original reviewer should reconsider their assessment.

The nose is all crème brulee. The vanilla continues onto the palate with baking spices and oak, all intensified.

Warm and welcoming with sweet flavors initially on the palate. Develops nicely and rapidly with each sip.

That was amazing, the cost deterred me from purchasing it, but I should have.

Adding a bit of water (approximately one ice cube) significantly improves it.
