About this bottle

Diageo's "Blonde American Whiskey" is designed to offer a lighter style of spirit. This whiskey is crafted using a high-corn mash bill and limestone-filtered water from Cascade Spring in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Its pale and clear appearance in the glass is due to double chill-filtration. Echoing a fishing theme, the bottle's cork can easily be converted into a fishing bobber. This whiskey debuted in the summer of 2018, initially available in Michigan and Texas, and featured at various festivals. It is bottled at 80 proof.

There's nothing wrong with it, but nothing stands out either. It's mostly just bland. A faint corn scent on the nose, and the palate is mild but unmemorable. "Mild" is likely the best descriptor for this drink. It seems intended for warm weather mixing, and they succeeded in that goal, even featuring a lemonade cocktail on the bottle.

Terence Gaines 4.3

The color is a soft, bright gold. The legs are nicely average. The nose presents sweet honey, vanilla, and buttered toast. The palate is soft and sweet, with more honey and vanilla, complemented by the classic oak undertones. The finish is smooth and warm, with a slight hint of spice. It's a classic whiskey, neither too overwhelming nor underwhelming.

Minnie Gamez 3.3

Nothing truly remarkable, but its simplicity is appealing. Not at all unpleasant. The bottle's appearance evoked images of outdoor activities and gatherings. It's exactly the kind of setting I'd enjoy this bottle in! Worth the cost.

Jenny Moses 3.8

To be fair, this isn't my usual preference, and it's quite good considering that. To me, it's comparable to Johnny Dram and works well in cocktails. It's smooth and straightforward, with vanilla and mild oak. There's no smoke and very little heat. It has a touch of fruitiness (apricot).

This is not one to keep. It has a very harsh aroma and no discernible taste. I mixed it with lemonade. The label boldly proclaims it “may be the greatest American whiskey”. I disagree. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Fabian King 4.5

Pleasant! Light notes of honey and a moderate body. Little to no lingering taste, perhaps vanilla. Excellent served chilled or with a mixer like coca cola. Fairly priced, and widely available.
