Alexandre Gabriel first experimented with barrel-aging gin in 2008, leading to this updated version released in the US in late spring 2018. This gin, crafted with 22 botanicals including yuzu, genepi, and bleuet added to the standard Citadelle Gin recipe, is matured for five months using five wood types: acacia, mulberry, cherry, chestnut, and French oak. Following maturation, the aged gins are blended in a proprietary eight-foot tall, egg-shaped oak vessel before being bottled at 45.2% ABV.

A very well-crafted sipping gin, smooth and delicious. Perhaps, it's a little difficult to distinguish all the botanicals, but the aging process imparts a pleasant complexity and depth of flavor.
