Chattanooga Whiskey Bottled in Bond Bourbon (Spring 2018 Vintage)

I was fortunate to find this at my local liquor store. It wasn't priced at MSRP (around $50) but cost $65. I bought it anyway, as I had never seen it in Texas before. I've tried their rye and 111-proof offerings and always heard amazing things about their Bottled-in-Bond. Let's dive in. The nose is delightful, with a toasted marshmallow flavor accompanied by caramel and coffee. It makes you keep returning to the aroma. The palate continues the excitement. It was like drinking chocolate with a rich and creamy mouthfeel. I was almost shocked by how flavorful it was. The finish is incredibly long. The chocolate flavor persists with some spices and a bit of coffee, and it just keeps going. This is an outstanding bottle. If I see it anywhere, I'll be buying it. I suggest you do the same!

Sampled at the experimental distillery in Chattanooga, TN. Deep amber hue with a moderate amount of slowly descending legs. On the nose, expect green apple, caramelized sugar, vanilla icing, somewhat sweet hay, and the characteristic maltiness that defines the distillery's signature style. The mouthfeel is light and warming, delivering a strong punch of caramel, alongside malted barley, toasted bread with butter, and coconut. The conclusion is lengthy and intricate. It's outstanding.

While I didn't get to sample Chattanooga Whiskey's BIB 2017 edition, I can't imagine it being significantly superior to this. On the nose, I detect toasty butterscotch and vanilla, with a whisper of cinnamon and orange. The flavor profile is quite complex for me, featuring woody sweetness, cherries, and citrus. Overall, it's exceptionally smooth with a velvety texture on the palate and an aftertaste of oak and lime. I absolutely adore it!!

The smell has cocoa powder, cinnamon, a bit of floral scents, dark fruits like raisins and plums, and a hint of vanilla frosting. It has good complexity and is well-balanced. On the palate, it tastes like vanilla cola, with some earthy notes, a slight hint of apple and smoke. A very intriguing pour with a medium finish. Overall, I really like what this company is producing. It's another excellent product and the cost is appropriate.

Purchased a bottle during a recent visit to Chattanooga. Had no idea what to anticipate but was quite pleased. It's not overly intricate but incredibly smooth. Right in the middle, not really thrilling but not off-putting either. First impression, eager for another taste.

A pleasant aroma on the nose, smelling sweet with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and oak. A good bite that fades quickly, with relief coming swiftly from the vanilla and sweet flavors. Very drinkable; I could see this being a solid nightcap (or four neat). A great purchase.
