About this bottle

Castle's Curse is a single malt offering within Diageo's Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co. collection, which focuses on rare and seldom-seen whiskies. This single malt was produced at Teaninch Distillery in the northern Highlands of Scotland. It has been aged for 14 years in European oak casks. The label depicts a kelpie, a mythical Scottish water spirit known for its shape-shifting abilities and association with rivers and streams. Bottled at 47.4% ABV, this limited edition was released at select retailers nationwide beginning in September 2023, with a suggested retail price of $175.

Cordelia Alcaraz 4.3

Enjoyed this at a whisky bar, though it was a pricey drink. It was much smoother than the 24-year Muckety Muck Single Grain and seemed to have a lower alcohol content despite being 47.4% compared to 45%. Nice caramel, brown sugar/maple flavors and a mouth-coating texture.

Tracy Slater 4.5

A sibling gave this to me for my birthday. I'd suggest this one. It's excellent. The 94.8 proof highlights the flavor.

Gerard Mobley 4.3

Excellent. Another hit from Orphan Barrels! Enjoyed it neat, I know... incredibly smooth with plenty of spice, but truly delightful.

Herschel Wilkes 4.5

Honey and vanilla. Sweet caramel.

Kaitlynn Richmond 3.8

It's very sweet for a scotch.

Mikaela Sepulveda 4.3

Notes of fruit and nuts.
