It's undeniable that Castle and Key is producing fantastic products for their cost. I enjoy trying their special releases, but their standard offerings are rich, full-bodied choices that rival brands like Blade and Bow, Eagle Rare, and Freeland Spirits. This small batch is well-balanced with a pleasant warmth in all the right places. Abundant sweetness is enhanced by mild bitter tannins and baking spices. The finish is substantial with a lasting toasty note. When available, I intend to keep this as a regular purchase alongside C and K's Restoration Rye.
