Upon the initial smell and taste, bread dough is apparent. It then develops a spicier rye finish. Adding a single ice cube helped it open up, but it still needs a couple of years to mature. I'm eager to sample different batches.

Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, launched its inaugural bourbon in 2022, marking the first release since the restoration of the Old Taylor Distillery in 2014. This bourbon, featuring a mash bill of 73% white corn, 10% rye, and 17% malted barley, was aged for 4 years and bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration. Batch 5 consists of 60 barrels.

For being aged only 4 years, it's decent (not as fiery as it could be). Citrusy with a taste that fills your mouth (is that the rye effect?). A cool bottle for the bourbon display.
