I was a fan of C&K’s lower proof wheated so I decided to get this one. Upon first opening I was very let down, it lacked the flavor of the other. Then I tried it again 6 months after opening and it’s fantastic. Surprisingly, it was very wheaty and raisin-forward.

This bottle is spot on. It had strong notes of musty bread with some baking spices and a sweet undertone that appeared near the finish, along with an almost dusty corn aftertaste. It's reminiscent of an old, familiar country road.
A distinct tart apple note, along with raisins. The aroma reminds me of a grain-forward craft bourbon. The finish has bitter tannins that persist for an excessively long time. I really enjoyed this when I first opened it, but after three months, my opinion has changed significantly.
The first half of the bottle was really good. It strongly reminds me of Weller products. Good flavor, not too harsh neat, excellent mouthfeel, and a satisfying finish. The latter half of the bottle caused my rating to drop from 4.25 to 3.75.
Nose: Dried berries, maple, caramel, earthy and herbal notes, with brown sugar and banana undertones. Taste: Buttery and creamy, with oak and wood notes, wheat and spice, and a sweet profile.
Castle & Key did a great job with this one! Excellent value. It’s a smooth, wheated bourbon with mild caramel flavors. There’s no burn at all.
