This whiskey is like a mattar paneer curry, full of peas, cheese, and spices. The complex aroma presents notes of peas and cheese, alongside a subtle sweet peat and wood polish. The initial taste is sweet, but soon becomes dominated by Tellicherry peppercorns. A whisper of dark chocolate and cream is present, leading to a sweet, minty conclusion. Adding water only amplifies the pepper. As with many aged whiskies, the aroma is more captivating than the palate, and the pepper ultimately overshadows the other flavors. However, this is the charm of single casks and small batch blends – such a distinctive aroma wouldn't appear in an official bottling.
