Nose: Light citrus, a trace of smoke Palate: Fresh, fruity flavors – citrus and white grape. Light peat smoke Finish: Soft smoke, a little peppery sting The moscatel influence is very subtle; this just tastes slightly fruitier than the 12 Year Old Caol Ila (which I truly enjoy). 7.5/10

About this bottle
This annual limited edition from Diageo's Distillers Edition series features a chosen single malt Scotch whisky distillery. Each bottling undergoes a secondary maturation period in a specific cask type. For this Caol Ila bottling, casks that previously held Moscatel sherry, a sweet fortified wine, were used. The spirit was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2020 at 86 proof.

A pleasant peated spirit. It could use a bit more viscosity.
