This is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy spice. It's present but not overwhelming. It offers warmth and an inviting character with subtle hints of oak, vanilla, and perhaps some tobacco. It's sweet but not excessively so. The finish is of moderate length. All in all, quite delightful.

About this bottle
Independent bottler and blender Buzzard's Roost presents this bottling, a mixture of 4-to-6-year-old straight Indiana bourbons featuring two distinct high-rye mash bills. These bourbons are then transferred to the company's unique oak barrels, which undergo toasting and a light char (#1). The whiskey is bottled at barrel proof, 114.4, without chill filtration.

Sampled neat at my establishment in Santa Fe! On the nose, it certainly smells hotter than it tastes on the palate. It's my wife's birthday, so I'll have to revisit this. However, the proprietor of my favorite bar has been saving this, and it is absolutely delicious and spicy.
Smells of vanilla and significant spice. Vanilla flavor on the tip of the tongue, with a long, lingering kick of spice at the end. A sippable spirit given its 113.5 proof.
Wonderful aroma with ample caramel and butterscotch that carries through to the mouth very effectively. Excellent flavor and a moderately long finish.
Rich, smoky, sweet bourbon with a full finish. Definitely something I'd have again; it's easy to drink and rich.
Excellent - much better than average! 114.5 proof. Bottle No. 1164.
