The aroma definitely carries the scent of alcohol, overpowering other smells. It's very oaky but tastes good. While not my top pick for sipping straight, it's tasty in an Old Fashioned.
Nose: cinnamon, a touch of sharp oak, and dusty corn. Palate: mild, sweet, easy. Light caramel. A bit of floral notes and a hint of spice. Finish: light spice, short.
On the nose: A pleasant dusty corn aroma with hints of malt and cinnamon. On the palate: Mildly sweet and somewhat sharp, featuring caramel and burnt oak. On the finish: Moderately thin.
Not nearly as full of flavor as the main bottling. It's not 'bad' by any stretch, but it just tastes younger and lacks the complexity.
Smooth at first, with a strong alcohol presence in the back. Light oak notes are present. A good whiskey for the end of a meal, but not ideal for starting with neat.
