(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Charity Whisky Tasting, June 11th, 2021). A charity tasting benefiting the Drumchapel Food Bank, featuring 6 pours from GSC’s previous Whisky Bottlings over the last decade. Nose: Ash, peat, BBQ, salty, bacon, dry and sweet Palate: Sweet peat, salt/seaweed. More of the BBQ hinted at on the nose, but not overtly meaty. Damp malt, licorice. Finish: A medium-short finish. Salt/seaweed, black pepper, spicy and chili, leather, tobacco. More of the damp peat. One of 270 bottles. Distilled: 2013 Bottled: 2018 This is a delightful, sweet, and peated dram. It's surprisingly gentle for such a damp and peated spirit. You detect the taste of gristy spirit, no fruit but many layers and flavors. Excellent! It ranked second out of the six drams, receiving 20% (4 votes) of the final vote for favorite of the night. 95% of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
