The taste of berries and smoke is wonderfully harmonious. Smell: Smoke, cured pork belly, strawberries, caramel candy, raspberries, dates, figs, unrefined sugar Taste: Figs, smoke, medicinal notes, salted caramel, dried fish, raspberries, tart cherries, nutmeg, bittersweet chocolate, spice Aftertaste: Blackberries, salty cured fish, caramel candy, smoke, bittersweet chocolate, nectar

Aroma: Smoky woods, smoked meat, red berries, and stewed dark stone fruits. Rich cocoa vanilla syrup. Palate: More smoked meats, heavy oils, and fruit. Cherry pie, salt and brine, tannins galore. Finish: Long peppery smoke, more sea salt notes, oil, and savory meat. Sweet wines.

Ryan Kozlowski 4.5

The aroma is rather complex... smoky like tar, rich like blackberry jam, and with a touch of dried apricots. The initial taste is a bit fiery and astringent, followed by a burst of raisins and dry red wine. The wine-like notes and a slightly tarry, subtly meaty smoke linger for a considerable time. I am fond of this distillery.

Tasted blind. Smell: Subtle smoke, sherry influence, fresh cut grass. Palate: Smoke, grilled meat, antiseptic. Oak: Possibly port? Score: 4/5 stars. Impression: Comforting and warming. Guess at distillery: A sherry-finished Laphroaig, perhaps Ardbeg.

Raphael Youngblood 4.5

Great harmony of peat, tannins, and a touch of berry sweetness. Wine casks can be unpredictable, but the effect here is controlled and better than past Bunna Bordeaux bottlings.

This is incredibly spicy and full-bodied, what a treat! 🥳
