Leonel Amato 4.5

Nose: Fruity, though it smells of sherry cask maturation, which isn't stated on the bottle. Salted caramel, ocean spray, and candied dark cherry, with cocoa. A friend mentioned it smelling like model airplane glue. Palate: Wonderful. Rich. Fruity. Smooth. Berries. Caramel, with prominent baking spices. As it shifts to the finish, the sweetness diminishes slightly and the oaky wood spice becomes apparent. Finish: Oak, a hint of umami, salinity.

Roland Nadeau 4.5

Excellent served over ice. Initially, the full strength aroma was overwhelmingly alcoholic and sharp. The sip was smooth, concluding with a subtle cherry note. After adding ice, a pleasant, fragrant caramel aroma emerged. Sweet maple syrup was detected on the tongue, followed by a slight alcohol sting at the end. The finish included fruit and cherry notes.

Gena Crowley 4.5

A very smooth Islay with excellent flavor. Subtle hints of cinnamon and maple. Less intense than most Islay Scotches. Still quite good!

Leonard Yost 3.5

It has an odd flavor to me, reminds me of shoe polish.
