These old-school sherry casks are superior to their seasoned counterparts. The moment I smelled it, I detected polished mahogany, plums, and roasted coffee. The sweetness was subtle, highlighting aromatic, dry, and mineral aspects. Hints of spent matches, menthol, and tobacco appeared. The flavor offered a balance of cocoa, bitter orange, and peppery oak spices with stewed fruits, walnuts, and eucalyptus. A lingering finish of dark chocolate, fresh mint, and lime juice ensued. I'm pleased this malt isn't overly dry; a magnificent Bunnahabhain! RATING: 4.4/5.0 stars ≙ 90 pts → SUPERB [-]
