This is a very old Bunnahabhain, released by the independent bottler Murray McDavid. A very nice expression from a company I've never really encountered before. It's labeled as cask #001. Bottled at 50.4% ABV. On the nose: Rice and soap. Refined notes of raisins, figs, butter, and caramel. This is an average aroma. I rated it 21 out of 25. The palate, however, was excellent. It presented as milk powder with waves of various chocolates. As I have a sweet preference, it received a perfect score here. The aftertaste is also very good and satisfying. Notes of figs and dried fruits. No spiciness whatsoever. Overall, another superb aged dram. Not all old whiskies are exceptional, but this one is. Rated 95 out of 100.
