Matias Potts 3.8

During a trip to Boston, I struggled over which bottle to bring home. Since I strongly favor local selections, I chose the Bully Boy Distillers Private Cask, batch #5, bottle #58. The aroma is deep, rich, and reminiscent of maraschino cherries in syrup, complemented by oak. Over time, a distinct vanilla note emerges pleasantly. I generally appreciate sherry cask whiskies, so this "blend of straight whiskies finished in Port and Madeira barrels" feels quite similar to them. The initial part of my sip coats my tongue with a syrupy texture. The cask flavors are prominent, with a slight warmth. There's a hint of spiced pear when inhaled during tasting. It doesn't have many complex layers, but it's an enjoyable after-dinner drink. The finish is medium, dry, and warming.

Tastes like fresh bread and vanilla cream. Feels smooth with a nice warmth. The vanilla lingers, mixed with red wine.

Joaquin Mccabe 3.8

Cinnamon, oak, smooth. Cooked apple. Delightful, although not extremely intricate.
