Bruichladdich Waves

On the nose, you get a very strong malty flavor, like barley sugar, with some minor notes of walnut and very, very little honeysuckle and earthy soil flavor (perhaps). When you taste it, it's quite smooth and has no burn. It's very similar to the cereal taste, with some syrup notes but a quick finish - definitely a cheap finish. It's a little bitter, like gentian plant with that barley sugar end in the background. I really can't figure out how this whisky can be compared to other Islay ones.

I've only tried this once and can no longer find it. It had a salty sea air character with rich Madeira undertones. I long for those gentle waves.

A welcoming aroma and taste. It's reminiscent of Port Charlotte Islay, though more mellow and full.

Gentle smoke with a touch of sweetness. Fleeting notes of summer fruit, vanilla, and citrus.

Mild, very soft finish. A little sweet.
