About this bottle

The Mizunara release is one of three in Broken Barrel Whiskey Co.'s (formerly Infuse Spirits) Single Oak Series. This whiskey combines a 5-year-old corn whiskey from Kentucky with a 4-year-old corn whiskey from Indiana. Following the blend, the whiskey undergoes additional aging with new Mizunara oak staves. Production was limited to 6,600 bottles, and the spirit is bottled at 100 proof.

Reed Shearer 5.0

This whiskey is intriguing; it starts with a bright apple flavor and vanilla character that transitions into an almost floral finish. It's easy to drink at 50% ABV and doesn't require ice. The brand's choice to combine corn whiskey with Japanese wood is very unique and cool. I would purchase another bottle if I saw one after finishing this one. Recommended.

Scarlet Rosenberg 1.5

Overpowering craft character. The aroma is heavy with grain and wood notes, becoming slightly spirity as it opens up. The palate is dominated by raw woody notes, developing into banana chips, with spirity notes also increasing. The finish is pleasant but also becomes somewhat spirity as it develops.

Wilbur Woodard 5.0

This is an excellent buy for those wanting to explore Japanese-style whiskey affordably. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The texture on the palate was delicate, and I was amazed it was 100 proof. I would certainly purchase this again. The packaging is also attractive!

Rhiannon Freeman 3.0

Initially, this whisky presents strongly, but it settles down. The finish is rather short and doesn't quite deliver the desirable mizunara aftertaste, although some presence remains.

Elijah Anthony 4.5

Pleasant butterscotch, smooth, oily, and an absolute joy to drink 🍸.
