Zachariah Graham 2.0

Nose: Orange marmalade, ginger, pine resin, peach juice. Palate: Orange oil, mild clove, grapefruit juice. Finish: Medium. The palate flavor gently fades. This rum is a blend of locally produced unaged sugarcane juice spirit and purchased 5-year-old Caribbean gold rum. The two are combined and infused with spices. The flavor profile is well-crafted, but as a neat drink, it didn't particularly impress me. There was nothing objectionable or off-putting; quite the opposite, it was quite pleasant, but it came across as rather uninteresting - even common. It might work well mixed with tonic, or be useful in a cocktail. Another concern is the price - for what they're asking (or less), you can get other rums that are superior. Brix is a rum distillery and bar in Sydney, established in 2018. They are reportedly aging rum for release in 2021. "Adequate": 72/100 (2 stars)

Floral and fruity. It's somewhat like a... tea? An herbal fruit tea? Certainly sweet. A little burn, but not significant. Overall, quite pleasant. The mouthfeel is smooth, a little oily.

Citrus and floral notes on the nose and palate. It avoids being overwhelmed by vanilla, unlike other spiced rums. It truly stands out.
