Truly remarkable spirit. I appreciate these Bowmore barrel strength/older bottlings. Genuinely one of the top ones I've sampled. This bottle needs time; I let it rest for over 20 minutes after opening. Once it develops, a surge of dried fruits, chocolate, refined smoke, pine/minty scents and flavors emerges. The palate has a perfect coating, and the finish is outstanding. The initial taste is complex, mirroring the aromas' structure, with additional elements. It's quite intriguing to observe the whisky's transformation over time when watching the nose as it opens up.

Cherry. Raisin. Smoke and pepper emerge on the palate. A wonderful smoked cherry/leather finish. Also tobacco and licorice.
