Okay friends, I mentioned having two drams at the Bowmore Distillery warehouse cellar. Both were 22yo hand-filled, but this second one... was truly exceptional. Sourced from a single oloroso sherry cask, at 57.3% ABV, this was one of the most deeply colored Bowmores I've encountered. It's crucial for me to note that I find Bowmore spirit particularly well-suited for sherry maturation. On the nose, FANTASTIC. Red fruits, oloroso sherry, cherry syrup, lemon. It possesses an incredible aroma I can only liken to sherry bubblegum. Chocolate cream. The palate was quite an experience. It begins with chocolate, red fruits, and... more chocolate. All the berry and red fruit flavors imaginable are present. Velvety; this is an amazing creation. Can the aftertaste match that incredible rhythm? The answer is yes. Chocolate and ash. Tobacco. It's a chocolate frenzy. I can only describe it as heavenly. Incredible whisky. Overall, this is perfect. Drinking this single malt will transform your inner organs to gold. Forget medieval alchemists; Bowmore has discovered the elixir of immortality. My rating for this divine drink is 100 out of 100. Cheers!
