Bonal Gentiane-Quina Aperitif

Fantastic product. Crafted from partially fermented grape juice, then strengthened and steeped with botanicals from the region. Notes of currants, floral elements, sweet spices, and dried citrus rind, complemented by a pleasant sweetness that is expertly balanced by superb acidity. This results in a vibrant and harmonious Aperitif. Might perform exceptionally well in mixed drinks requiring a more delicate and crisp Amaro.

It's acceptable, but not quite what I anticipated. It has a pleasant quinine note but is dominated by red vermouth flavors with a subtle, almost balsamic undertone. I was hoping for something lighter and fruitier (similar to Cocchi Americano, which I favor much more).

This gentiane is more revitalizing and laid-back than certain other members of its family. It's lighter and shines when served chilled. It blends beautifully with soda water and is a great addition to any mixed drink that would benefit from a somewhat sweeter, milder amaro.

A French aperitif. Possesses bitterness from cinchona/quinine and gentian. Based on fortified red wine with herbal notes. Suitable for cocktails that require a less intense profile than sweeter and more bitter amari.

Consumed in a mixed drink at Husk in Charleston SC. It adds a pleasant depth of flavor. I'm interested in experimenting further with it.
