It tastes quite young. Even when diluted, it retains a harsh alcohol vapor flavor. Somewhat off-putting. I'm also getting cereal and caramel notes. It's not a top pick; it truly needs several more years in the barrel.

It utilizes the distillery's Mash Bill #1 (75% yellow corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley), is fully matured in new, charred American oak, and then receives a finishing period of at least 21 days in lightly charred toasted oak barrels. Bottled non chill-filtered, it is 100 proof.

Initial notes of toasted bourbon, with the classic hints of vanilla and caramel, but with softer characteristics and added complexity from wood sugars. I'm considering purchasing a second bottle.

This store selection is unexpectedly smooth for a young bourbon. Notes of marshmallow, vanilla, and oak are present.
