About this bottle

Bluegrass Distillers Toasted Oak Bourbon is a limited release expression. It utilizes the distillery's Mash Bill #1 (75% yellow corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley), is fully matured in new, charred American oak, and then receives a finishing period of at least 21 days in lightly charred toasted oak barrels. Bottled non chill-filtered, it is 100 proof.

Connie Cavanaugh 2.5

It tastes quite young. Even when diluted, it retains a harsh alcohol vapor flavor. Somewhat off-putting. I'm also getting cereal and caramel notes. It's not a top pick; it truly needs several more years in the barrel.

Aron Beverly 4.3

Initial notes of toasted bourbon, with the classic hints of vanilla and caramel, but with softer characteristics and added complexity from wood sugars. I'm considering purchasing a second bottle.

Sidney Emerson 4.3

Excellent for a young bourbon. Offers great value. If you appreciate oak, this is a superb choice.

Molly Stewart 4.5

This store selection is unexpectedly smooth for a young bourbon. Notes of marshmallow, vanilla, and oak are present.

Anita Bagwell 3.0

I definitely got the vanilla and a bit of marshmallow. A good bourbon for sipping!
