Blue Fish Distillery Single Barrel Whiskey

This spirit has a golden hue like caramel syrup and shows thin, somewhat watery legs on the glass. It smells sweet and smoky, with hints of honey, flowers, citrus, cherry, banana, vanilla, caramel apples, a touch of peat, and a salty sea air scent. The taste is watery on the tongue and generally sweet, featuring orange, cinnamon sugar, cherry sweets, chocolate malted milk balls, and additional smoky notes as it sits. The finish is extended, smooth, and balances sweet and salty flavors. Regrettably, the distillery that produced this is now closed, making this bottle likely one of the final ones available. Nevertheless, I'm fortunate to have sampled it. This particular release, crafted from 70% Irish malt and 30% peated malt barley, offers a delightful smoky character often absent in local spirits. I thoroughly appreciate this drink and hope to encounter more similar ones! Salud!
