About this bottle
Black Bowmore DB5 1964 represents the inaugural partnership between Bowmore Distillery and the renowned British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin. Distilled on November 5, 1964, it was part of the initial distillation run following the installation of a new boiler at the distillery that year, which enabled a shift from coal to steam power. The year 1964 is also significant for the Aston Martin DB5, featured in the James Bond film Goldfinger. The bottle itself, designed by Scottish glass studio Glasstorm, is a miniature replica of an Aston Martin DB5 piston. Production was limited to 25 bottles, available from late autumn 2020.
