Black Bear Fitzgerald Revolution Colorado Whiskey

Appearance: This spirit is pale yellow and leaves thick, watery streaks. Nose: The aroma is pleasing and distinctive, with deep notes of caramel, sugarcane, straw, hay, buttery sweet corn, dried banana chips, overripe apple and peach, and tortilla chips. It also has a floral character and a young maltiness that's difficult to pinpoint. Overall, though, it's fantastic! Taste: The palate is generally sweet with a touch of sharpness. Flavors of caramel, lemon, and sugarcane are prominent. Finish: The taste vanishes quickly after swallowing, but then a sweetness ascends the throat and lingers briefly. Thoughts: To start, a clarification. Since this beverage is crafted from aged white corn and sugarcane distillate, it's not technically classified as "whiskey." It's more of a whiskey and rum combination. Nevertheless, I find it quite delightful and unique! This is a special batch produced by Master Distiller, Victor Matthews for a friend, Sean Fitzgerald, proprietor of the acclaimed Wobbly Olive in Colorado Springs.
