Perspective Series 21 Year (Berry Bros & Rudd)

Nose: walnuts and macadamia nuts, raisins; the grain is noticeable and affects it very subtly. Palate: pleasantly oily, delicate, macadamia nuts, corn, barley, very light smoke in the background: it reminds me a bit of JW's Blue Label, though not as good. Finish: short, but extremely balanced. I have always admired great blended whiskies. Nothing to critique, an excellent and pleasant blended whisky, suitable for drinking at any time of day or night. Nose: Orchard fruit, nectar, cocoa Palate: Sugary, crème, wood, stone fruit, honeycomb, confectioners' sugar Finish: Moderately extended. Wine, prunes, bramble, tanned hide and smooth. Sugary, vibrant and zesty. Considering its age, this exhibits a liveliness that is surprising and genuinely appreciated! Berries and cream on the tongue, leather and wine notes at the end. Wonderful!

The 2020 advent bottling from The Perspective Series, aged 21 years: 8. The nose has sherry fruit. The taste is vanilla, oak, and fruit. The finish is similar, with hints of sherry.

Initially unremarkable, but it evolves with dark fruits, cherry, and a subtle old-style whisky undertone. It's good, but not exceptional. Should finish.

Evokes feelings of being tucked into a warm, comfortable bed by one's mother after a wonderful homemade southern meal.

The oily vanilla oak and sherry notes fall flat. The smokiness that remains also dissipates too quickly.
