Eastside Distilling, established in 2008 in Portland, Oregon, was an early entrant in the region's burgeoning distillery scene. The company produces a diverse range of spirits, including various whiskies and rums, as well as seasonal liqueurs. Their unaged Silver Rum, pot distilled to 130 proof and bottled at 80 proof, serves as the base for their flavored rums, such as ginger, coffee, and spiced varieties. The simple packaging does not suggest that this rum is made using a pot still.

An impressive amount of flavor for a rum at this price point. The nose offers notes of Fruity Pebbles and green banana. The palate begins with an intriguing funkiness, followed by a persistent honeydew flavor. In a market where most individuals mask inexpensive rums with fruit juices and sugar, this spirit is perfectly enjoyable on its own or with a bit of soda and a lime wedge.
Pungent aroma of tropical fruit, silky mouth feel with a semi-sweet ethanol finish. Great mixer.
