Bedlam Vodka

I owe thanks to a friend for introducing me to this exceptional and distinctive Vodka from North Carolina. I purchased a bottle during my recent visit to NC and was thoroughly impressed by it. The container is visually appealing, dark with abundant white lettering. The vodka within is crafted from rice, imparting a sweet aroma reminiscent of SoJu, a Korean distilled rice beverage. This spirit is exceptionally smooth and sweet, causing no burning sensation whether chilled or at room temperature. It's excellent with ice and works well in mixed drinks, though one must be mindful of its sweetness, as it can become excessive. Vodka Martinis made with it are quite pleasant, and I've prepared them using Dolins and Martini and Rossi with enjoyable results. My only reservation is their currently limited distribution, though they are expanding. This is a superb vodka, and I endorse supporting smaller distillers who produce outstanding products, making this an easy recommendation. Enjoy!

I ADORE THIS PRODUCT! I realize I'm partial since this is a North Carolina Spirit, but this has become my go-to for Vodka Tonics and also for infusions. The only vodka I'm aware of that is made from rice. The rice base gives this a nose of vanilla and butterscotch and provides a creamy mouthfeel along with a distinct vanilla & butterscotch note on the palate. Little burn on the finish. It is so distinctive, it almost tastes like a cocktail by itself. The unique flavor profile has prevented me from trying it in more savory cocktails, but as a sipper or with tonic it's great. This has limited availability so far (NC, SC, GA, and NJ) but it's expanding. If you see it and are searching for something a bit different, try it out. At $20 it's affordable.

A salty, gose-like vodka. It smells like tequila and sake and tastes quite good. An amazing bargain at 5 dollars (originally 25).

Burns initially but smooths out, tastes unpleasant though not as good as other vodkas

The initial aroma is reminiscent of sweaty socks, but the lingering taste is quite pleasant.
