The Battle Standard 142 American Dry Gin Barrel Finished is named in honor of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the alma mater of its founders and the sole federal academy permitted to fly a Battle Standard commemorating 142 Cadet/Midshipmen lost in World War II. Distilled in 500-gallon batches, this gin incorporates eight botanicals: juniper, cinnamon, orange peel, grains of paradise, angelica, cardamom, coriander, and orris root. It is crafted in a contemporary style that emphasizes botanicals other than juniper. The gin undergoes a brief aging period in used bourbon barrels and is bottled at 90 proof.
