Emanuel Spears 4.5

Leaves long streaks in the glass. Smells of sweet brown sugar, molasses, and a little spice and pepper. Doesn't deliver the alcohol intensity you might expect at this proof. Very sweet on the palate, with caramel and brown sugar and a hint of almond. The flavor is concentrated in the middle of the tongue. Spice and heat appear with the finish, fading nicely with a lingering warmth in your chest. Unique and very pleasing. Update: the more I drink this, the more I enjoy it. This whiskey is nearly exceptional. I'm finishing my second bottle, and my opinion hasn't changed. This is easily the best Barrell batch I've had, though I admit I haven't been a regular drinker of Barrell products.

Gussie Goldberg 4.8

I truly adore Barrell! Batch 26 offers a bourbon experience unlike any I've had. Sweet floral notes, reminiscent of plumeria and blooming jasmine. Complemented by a rich, buttery Napa Chardonnay. It has an oily, viscous texture. The flavors linger and persist, with a rich dessert wine profile from botrytis grapes, imparting an earthy, musty quality. It reminds me of a candy cap mushroom.

Andrew Knott 4.3

Toasted marshmallow and vanilla comprise the dominant notes of this bourbon. Undertones of leather and smoke complete the middle notes, followed by a slight burn from the high proof. The initial sweetness perfectly balances the flavor and softens the alcohol's intensity. A great expression.

Curt Eaton 4.3

Nose: Dark fruits, caramel, baking spices, and floral notes. Palate: Rich, syrupy, and semi-sweet with caramel, brown sugar, baking spices, dried fruits, leather, and a little heat. Finish: Long with notes of dried fruits, baking spices, caramel, tobacco, and leather.

Delia Hearn 4.0

A very solid bourbon. Notes of apple and heavy cherry on the nose and more cherry on the palate. Good mouthfeel. Medium finish. Does not taste like a 112 proof spirit.

Keisha Hawk 4.8

Sweet and thick, with molasses and fruit, ripe vanilla, and pineapple cream. There's spice, but the sweetness dominates, and this is amazing.
