Smells of alcohol and some maraschino cherry. It starts sweet and syrupy, transitioning smoothly to brown sugar and then quickly to a lingering red hot cayenne. It's somewhat subtle with a rapid development and faint woody undertones. Very sweet with a fast change and a Fireball finish

The aroma is dominated by a molasses-spice scent, which I attribute to the amaro. Deeper flavors follow on the palate, including cinnamon, molasses, allspice, clove, and leather. The finish is spicy and dark. I believe the amaro overpowered the whiskey, but the outcome is satisfactory.
