Jeanie Peck 3.5

Barrel No. 65313 Bottle No. 180 out of 242 No Age Statement 58.3% ABV; 116.6 Proof Opened 8 months ago Nose: Contains notes of toasted chocolate malt, Milk Duds, clove, damp forest, nutmeg, vanilla frosting, unripe peach, moderate oak, and moderate ethanol. Palate: Features honey and chocolate malt, Honey Buns, clove, pipe tobacco, cereal grain, sour cherry, and green apple. The finish is medium-long, with notes of grainy malt, cocoa powder, honey syrup, light oak, white pepper, clove, and light ethanol. This is an intriguing bourbon from a small Lexington distillery, distributed only within Kentucky. I've had the opportunity to sample three of their bourbons multiple times at tasting events. It shares similarities with bourbons utilizing a higher than usual percentage of malted barley, akin to Chattanooga Whiskey. It also has characteristics found in Ironroot. Occasionally, high-corn bourbons aged in the Deep South can resemble higher-malt bourbons, based on my experience. It's good and distinctive, but I recommend trying it before buying.
