About this bottle

The name Barr an Uisce, meaning "above the water" in English, is a tribute to Wicklow, Ireland. Founder Ian Jones' hometown of Redcross, Ireland, inspired the Barr an Uisce emblem. This whiskey was crafted to evoke the Wicklow landscape and is guaranteed to be aged for 10 years in first-fill bourbon barrels.

Eddie Roe 5.0

Since it was a gift, I can't comment on the price. The sweet smoothness of Irish whiskey meets the peppery kick of Kentucky bourbon. It's an excellent choice served neat after a savory meal like burgers or steak. Adding a spoonful of water truly unlocks the full flavor profile.

Sharlene Jordan 2.0

A light malt whisky. Sweet on the tongue, with a subtle smoke and oak at the end. Noted once. Drinkable, but not exceptional. Adding an ice cube would likely make it bland. The finish is brief.

Davon Plummer 4.0

I sampled this at a Star Wars themed event at Seven Grand in Austin. While the woody flavor was a bit strong for me, I still enjoyed it a lot. Worth trying.

Claire Motley 3.5

It's like a mix of bourbon and Irish whiskey. The nose is light and inviting, with a gentle finish. Well-crafted but somewhat lacking in body.

Tony Ingle 3.5

The 16-year expression presented strong vanilla notes and was exceptionally smooth.

Felicia Mccullough 4.0

A quality single malt.
