NOSE: smoke initially, then plums, a little caramel & vanilla, and a bit of cake TASTE: smoke, smoked meat, slightly fruity, lightly sweet FINISH: smoky & long-lasting. Some nuts at the end. Very pleasant! Very good peated whisky at a great price. Overall, smoke dominates everything, so beginners should start with something milder.

Nose: the moderate smoke comes across as bandaid. A full woody note underneath. Taste: a fresh smoke flavor not unlike smoked meat, with funky aged cheese. Texture is normal with no alcohol burn. Finish: the smoked meat persists but the cheese has vanished. A slight hint of nuts.
This is likely 90% Lagavulin 8. A solid purchase for the cost.
Smoked peat, coastal characteristics, some vanilla, and sweetness from dried fruit
