About this bottle

This is the second joint release from Bardstown Bourbon Co. and the Armagnac producer Château de Laubade. It combines Kentucky straight bourbon (12 years old, 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley) and Tennessee straight bourbon (10 years old, 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% malted barley). The blended bourbon was finished in Château de Laubade casks for 16 to 24 months, depending on the barrel and warehouse location. Bottled at 107 proof, 2,700 9L cases were available starting September 9, 2022, across 20 states, online, and at BBCo.'s Bardstown gift shop.

Sammie Ellison 4.3

This bourbon was pleasing. It started a bit intense initially but mellowed after 5-10 minutes with an ice sphere. The Armagnac barrel significantly impacts this, providing a strong Armagnac character. I'd estimate the flavor profile as 60% Armagnac and 40% bourbon. While I enjoyed it, those who prefer a distinct bourbon taste might not find it to their liking. It's a distinctive bourbon that I'm glad I acquired.

Zoey Grissom 4.5

Numerous reviews suggest this is a letdown compared to the initial release. However, having never tasted the first release, I have no basis for comparison. I find the finish exceptional and truly enjoy this drink. While not inexpensive, I have no regrets.

Jefferson Franks 4.5

Rich with cinnamon, spice, and sweetness. A hint of rye and brown sugar. It's well-executed, and the richness softens the proof on the palate.

Tevin Marcus 3.3

This is certainly a disappointment after the initial collaboration. I prefer it neat, but this requires a large ice cube to mellow out a bit.

Peyton Osullivan 3.8

It's just not the same as the initial release. There are medicinal notes, but it improves the more you consume it.

Brianna Blair 4.5

Absolutely remarkable. Seek this out if you enjoy armagnac. 4.65
