Abundant oak. It's good oak. It's good rum. But it's not exactly the most refined combination. Very dry, somewhat tannic, and while still very good, it's a blend that needed a more skilled blender.

About this bottle
Barceló Imperial Mizunara Cask, launched in 2024 as part of the Rare Blends Collection, is one of three expressions. Each expression in this collection uses rum reserves aged for extended periods in barrels from different regions, and all are made with sugarcane from Barceló's own fields. For this rum, selected reserves were first aged in oak barrels with varied toast levels, followed by an additional aging period in virgin Japanese oak barrels. The MSRP is $79.99.
