Della Perales 3.5

Appearance: Dark and thick, resembling hot chocolate. Aroma: It initially presents the familiar scent of Baileys - light Irish whiskey mixed with cream and subtle proprietary flavors, followed by the aroma of chocolate. This scent persists throughout, a combination of Baileys and chocolate, yet distinct. Flavor and Texture: Sweet and smooth on the palate. Similar to the aroma, the initial taste is that of Baileys, immediately followed by the smooth, rich dark milk chocolate flavor of Guylian praline seashell chocolates – precisely that specific taste. It's as if one of those chocolates was melted into a glass of regular Baileys. It's enjoyable and difficult to dislike. While it's not a complex drink, that's not its purpose; it should be evaluated by its own standards. This type of creamy liqueur is intended to be comforting, warming, gentle, friendly, decadent, and most importantly, sweet. It achieves this perfectly. The only direct comparison I have is with Mozart chocolate liqueur, which a friend and I sampled earlier this year. We both felt that while this Baileys liqueur was satisfactory, the Mozart was superior. 'Mozart is more like Italian drinking chocolate,' she stated, and she is quite correct. I also tried adding a small measure of the rather disappointing 'The Dubliner' Irish whiskey, purchased today, to a small glass of this. I believe it improved both the whiskey and the liqueur equally. 'Good': 83/100 (3.5 stars)
