Nose: Deep/earthy, brown sugar, oak, chocolate, smoke, and ash. Palate: Muted, with more chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla, and rye bread. Appears dark. It might contain caramel coloring and could be blended with neutral grain spirits, but I'm uncertain. An uncommon flavor composition. No alcohol burn noticeable.

About this bottle
Backstage Southern Whiskey was conceived by country music star Darius Rucker, who traditionally shares a toast with his bandmates before performances. Rucker and his associates established the brand 843 Whiskey, introducing this particular whiskey at 84.3 proof. Initially launched in Rucker's home state of South Carolina, it is also available in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, with plans for a national rollout.
