Aultmore 21 Year

I would describe it as an "alcoholic chamomile"! A very delicate whisky, easy to drink, enjoyable, and not complex. On the nose: chamomile, honey, vanilla. I honestly do not detect all the fruit others mention. On the palate, it remains delicate with chamomile, honey, vanilla, but here I quite clearly detect a distinct pineapple flavor! The finish is medium length, confirming all the previous aromas, and introducing a spicy note. An excellent drink, which only misses the top score because it is too delicate for my personal preferences! ___________________________________________________________________________ I would define it as an "alcoholic chamomile"! Medium length finish where all the previous aromas are confirmed and where a spicy note appears. An excellent drink, which doesn't get the maximum just because it's too delicate for my very personal tastes!

I noticed this bottle everywhere in duty-free shops and, since it's not a well-known whisky, I always wondered about its strong sales. Tonight, I tried it and now I understand: it's an excellent dram. Known as the "Foggie Moss", Aultmore 21yo is a classic speysider. It's very fruity and smooth. Bottled at 46%abv, it has an amber color. On the nose, it's a fruit salad. The aromas are very clear and easy to pick out. Pineapple, Pear, Apples; a very faint pepper note. A slight hint of peat. Peaches, Cinnamon and mainly Pineapple marmalade. On the palate, it begins quite spicy, which is unusual, then delivers a burst of fruit. Grapefruit, pineapple and lemoncello. The aftertaste is very different from the rest of the dram. An ashy, peaty note appears unexpectedly. Overall, this is a very good dram, and I'm genuinely surprised. It's not inexpensive, but I feel it offers good value for the price. 92 out of 100. Cheers!

Very intricate with a unique body for a scotch. I could drink this multiple times and likely discover new characteristics and flavors each time.

So delicious. I enjoyed the 18, but this is superior. The cost is high (175€), yet I will definitely purchase another bottle soon.
