Arran Royal Island 30 Year Old

This is a truly rare find. Arran Royal Island is a 30-year-old expression released by Arran Distillers, established in 1995, which presents a chronological inconsistency. The reality is that newer distilleries often acquire aged stock from other producers to fund the development of their own facilities through special releases. This particular Blended whisky has been matured for three decades, likely in sherry casks, as much of the labeling is illegible to me, and it was released exclusively for the Taiwanese market. Bottled at 40% ABV, with a tawny hue. On the nose, intensely dried oranges, coffee, cherries, and maple syrup. Caramelized apple and cinnamon. An incredible aroma, nearly perfect. On the palate, it was very fruity. Oranges, milk, and red fruits like strawberries. With more sips, red apples, caramel, and a subtle brininess appeared. The aftertaste is so sweet it could be overwhelming. Milk and sugar; Moka. Very refined and long-lasting. Reminiscent of Tiramisu dessert with a hint of salt. Overall, this was a very pleasant, refined, and sophisticated whisky. As a blend, the grain component is never noticeable, and its fruitiness and sweetness are truly remarkable. A wonderful, albeit very scarce, expression. My rating is 90 out of 100.
