Kara Rowland 4.0

Nose: Barley sugar, forest fruit, strawberries and cream. Very subtle on the nose. Palate: Raisins, currants, icing sugar, lemon cheesecake, honey sweetness, orange. Finish: Medium-short finish. Light sherry, buttery, chocolate orange. Hints of leather and liquorice linger on the aftertaste. You get some of the unique distillery character, with a lot of light, icing sugar sweet spirit. A fantastic little drink! 348 bottles produced. 5 unpeated sherry octaves, combined into one hogshead. One octave each was selected by a team from Ardnamurchan distillery as part of a fundraising effort. In May 2021, the five walked from Fife to the distillery, raising funds for the Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society. One was brought from the Adelphi archives for the tasting, so it is no longer available for purchase (unless found on the secondary market). It ranked first out of the six drinks, with 35% of the final vote for favorite of the night. 91% of attendees said they enjoyed the whisky. This received my vote for favorite of the tasting.
