I'm quite new to Scotch and decided to try an Islay expression. This is the most distinctive Scotch I've ever tasted. The color is also noteworthy – a light yellow instead of the typical amber. The aroma is strongly medicinal but quickly fades upon tasting, revealing a very smoky peat flavor complemented by vanilla and honey. The finish is exceptionally smooth.

A great re-release, offering plenty but with subtlety. While many might lament the 40% ABV, higher strength isn't always superior.
