Walker Wood 4.5

During a recent visit to the Balmoral Hotel bar in Edinburgh, I discovered a remarkable and scarce whisky: a Royal Mile Whiskies single cask bottling of Ardbeg 15yo. Limited to only 614 bottles, it had a strength of 55% ABV and an attractive label. The aroma offered notes of liquid paper, damp paint, humidity, wasabi, acidic oranges, and a BBQ sauce with chimichurri and oregano. The palate was impressive: damp paint, moss, plastic, and gunpowder, which I'd describe as a potent dram. After a few sips, notes of oranges, liquid paper, and vanilla powder emerged. The aftertaste was intensely smoky, with hints of cigarette, fireworks, and explosive gunpowder – possessing amazing power. In conclusion, this is a wonderfully potent dram, suited for dedicated peat enthusiasts. Its power is unlike anything I've encountered in most whiskies before. A fantastic experience, earning an honest score of 95 out of 100.
