I was anticipating this one greatly, and it just didn't quite meet expectations... at least for now (neck pour). The aroma clearly displays the influence of Oloroso Sherry, but then a slight funkiness emerged, somewhat masking those notes. The palate offered flavors of banana and tobacco or leather, followed by a bit of funk. The finish is smooth, not sweet, rather a little dry with dark fruits and a touch of spice, but it's short to medium. At 40% ABV, I wish the alcohol content were higher. I will let it rest and revisit it in a few months. I have a feeling the funk will persist.
