Nose... Dutch Apple pie, caramel, chocolate, toffee, and other dessert aromas prevail... Appearance... Light to medium mahogany.. Taste... Cherry pie, chocolate, Port wine, oats, raisins, and time... Not thyme, but actual time... Overall.... Just purchase this. I don't need to elaborate or encourage it further. It's what you anticipate from the standard bottling, but elevated. This showcases what a cask should taste like, truly enhancing the wood's essence. An outstanding beverage....

2018 Angels Envy Cask Strength Appearance - Deep Amber Bouquet - Sweetness, a hint of scorched oak, vanilla, and caramel. Taste - Caramel and cola notes, with the high proof quite evident. Aftertaste - Lingering oak, bordering on bitter but not quite there, with a pleasant "Kentucky Hug." Summary - Rated 4 out of 5 stars. Robust flavors in this bourbon. An excellent whiskey for savoring.
I'm really enjoying this one. It's certainly sweet with a brown sugar aroma, along with something else I can't quite identify right now, possibly crème brûlée. On the palate, it's also sweet but possesses a depth of flavor; a sort of dark fruit note, oak, and I keep thinking of banana foster flavors without the bananas. It drinks like a higher proof bourbon, in a positive way, and you experience a pleasant warmth.
The aroma has vanilla, sweetness, a bit of leather, Green apple, and some faint ethanol vapors. The taste is sweet and light, with some vanilla, a mild nuttiness, and a very subtle barrel influence. Lacks significant depth. The conclusion is short with a touch of bitterness, but it's reasonably smooth. I was eager to sample this port-finished variation, but it was merely adequate for me.
